Seán “Georgie” Leahy was born in 1938 and died on June 6, 2017.

He was an Irish hurling manager, coach, selector and former player.

Leahy’s league and championship career with the Kilkenny senior team lasted just one season from 1970-71.

He made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team.

An All-Ireland runner-up in this grade, Leahy later joined the senior team during the 1970-71 league-championship season.

He was an All-Ireland runner-up that year, however, he did win a Leinster medal as a non-playing substitute.

Georgie Leahy passed away at 78 years old.
