Preben Hertoft was born on January 5, 1928, and died in February 2017.
He was a Danish psychiatrist and professor in medical sexology, senior doctorate in medicine.
When his mentor Kirsten Auken died, Hertoft worked over 40 years as a sexologist doing research, treatment, counseling and education.
During 1986, Hertoft founded the first medical center for sexology in Denmark.
He mostly dealt with heterosexual and homosexual patients with sexual problems in therapy, but he also treated and counseled transvestites and pedophiles.
Hertoft was elected a fellow by the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex for outstanding contributions to the field.
Preben Hertoft passed away at 89 years old.
