A Nayyar was born on September 17, 1950, and died in November 2016.

He was a Pakistani ghazal/film singer.

Nayyar started singing in 1974, beginning his career from film Bahisht.

Nayyar’s first film song Yunhin din cut jayen, yuhin shaam dhal jaye was a duet song with Rubina Badar in film Bahisht (1974), composed by A. Hameed.

He claims famous singer Ahmed Rushdi as an important contributor to his career as he learned playback singing from Rushdi.

Himself and Akhlaq Ahmed remained dominant playback singers of Pakistani film industry in the 1980s.

He also ran a music academy in Lahore.

Just like Saleem Raza, S. B. John and Irene Perveen, Nayyar belonged to a Christian family.

Nayyar died at Lahore after long time illness.

A. Nayyar passed way at 66 years old.
