Akbar Ali/ ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ಅಲಿ was born on March 3, 1925, and died on February 21, 2016.

He was an Indian Kannada professor and poet

He resided in Karnataka, India.

Ali was given the Sumana Saurabha award, Karnataka State Sahitya Academy award in 1967 and 1984.

Akbar Ali became a Member of the Karnataka Vidhan Parishad (Legislative Council), in 1986.

His parents were Ameerbi and Appa Saheb from Ullagaddi village of Khanapur, Belgaum district.

Akbar Ali completed his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Bombay in 1949.

Ali received his Master of Arts degree at Willingdon College Sangli in 1960.

For 14 yrs as a lecturer, he served in the Arts and Science College of Karwar

He was awarded by The University of Mysore with his PhD, in 1980.

Akbar Ali works include Nava Chetan, “Anna”, “Sumana Saurabha”, “Gandha Kesara”, Nireeksheyalli, and Vish Sindhu.

Akbar Ali passed away at 91 yrs old.
