Alphonse Lee Mouzon was born on November 21, 1948, in Charleston, South Carolina, and died on December 25, 2016.

He was an American jazz fusion drummer and the owner of Tenacious Records.

The same label that primarily releases Mouzon’s recordings.

Mouzon was a composer, arranger, producer, and actor.

Alphonse gained popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

He was of African, French and Blackfoot descent.

He was diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma, a rare form of cancer, and died due to a cardiac arrest.

Alphonse Mouzon passed away at 68 years old.
