Irwin Belk was born on April 4, 1922 in Charlotte, North Carolina and died on February 24, 2018.

He was an American businessman and politician of the Democrat.

Belk attended The McCallie School and Davidson College.

During 1946, he acheived his bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II.

He served in the North Carolina House of Representatives from 1959 to 1962 and the North Carolina Senate from 1963 to 1966.

During 1999, President Bill Clinton appointed Belk as an alternative delegate to the United States.

Irwin died at 95 years old.
