Antti Hyry was born on October 20, 1931, in Kuivaniemi and died on June 4, 2016.

He was a Finnish writer.

Hyry was a recipient of the Eino Leino Prize in 2005.

Hyry book Uuni (Oven) won the Finlandia Prize, Finland’s premier prize for literature, during 2009.

The story is about a man’s reflections as he collects cement and bricks to build an oven for his home.

Maija Hyry was his wife.

Antti Hyry passed away at 84 yrs old.
