Donnie Duncan was born on August 28, 1940, and died on March 12, 2016.

He was an American football coach and college athletics administrator.

Donnie Duncan was the 26th head football coach for the Iowa State University Cyclones located in Ames, Iowa and he held that position for four seasons, from 1979 until 1982.

From the year 1980 and 1981, Cyclone squads both made appearances in the national rankings.

The game was led by future NFL players Dwayne Crutchfield, Dan Johnson, Karl Nelson and Chris Washington, the Cyclones tied No. 5 Oklahoma (7-7) and downed No. 8 Missouri (34-13).

Donnie Duncan passed away at 75 yrs old in his sleep in Dallas, Texas due cancer.
