Frits Soetekouw, Dutch footballer, Died at 80

Frits Soetekouw was born on June 6, 1938, and died on May 3, 2019; he was a Dutch footballer.

Born in Amsterdam, Soetekouw played as a defender at club level between 1961 and 1971.

Frits played for De Volewijckers, Heracles, Ajax, PSV and DWS.


He temporarily captained Ajax, notably in the side’s 5–1 win against Liverpool in 1966.

He also once performed for the Netherlands national team in 1962.

Frits Soetekouw passed away on May 3 2019, at the age of 80.
