Gustavo Arias Murueta was born on May 26, 1923, and died on April, 15, 2019.
He was a Mexican painter, sculptor, and poet.
Murueta was a member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana best known for his work in drawing, graphic arts, and oil painting.
Murueta initially contemplated design at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México where he met craftsmen, for example, Rufino Tamayo, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and José Clemente Orozco.
During the 1950s, Murueta started to create works of art, with his first presentation in 1961.
From that point until the present he has had a vocation as a craftsman with individual and aggregate displays in both Mexico and abroad.
While his work has been vigorously impacted by Orozco, he is viewed as a feature of the Generación de la Ruptura development.
Gustavo Arias Murueta passed away at 95 years old.
