Siti Latifah Herawati Diah was born on April 3, 1917, and died on September 30, 2016.

She was an Indonesian journalist.

She graduated from Barnard College in 1941,

Diah was the first Indonesian woman to graduate from a university in the United States.

Herawati Diah and her husband B.M. Diah founded The Indonesian Observer, in 1955.

Herawati Diah passed away at 99 year old.
