Hu Jinqing, Chinese animator and director, Died at 83

Hu Jinqing was born in March 1936, in Changzhou, Jiangsu, and died on May 13, 2019.

He was a Chinese animator and director.

He is a pioneer in adapting the traditional art of Chinese paper cutting to animation.

Hu Jinqing’s movie ‘The Fight Between the Snipe and the Clam’ was the winner for the Silver Bear for Best Short Film at the 1984 Berlin International Film Festival.

The Animated television series ‘Calabash Brothers’ was the co-directed in the 1980s by him.

He passed away at 83 years old at Shanghai No. 6 People’s Hospital.
