John “Jack” Urquhart Cropp was born on May 23, 1927, in Hokitika and died on June 25, 2016.

He was a New Zealand yachtsman.

Jack won an Olympic Gold medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne.

Along with Peter Mander, Cropp won the Sharpie class.

He resided in Takaka, Golden Bay.

Jack Cropp passed away at 89 yrs old.
