Jean-Jacques Perrey was born on January 20, 1929, and died on November 4, 2016.

He was a French electronic music producer.

He was an early pioneer in the genre.

Perrey was a member of the electronic music duo Perrey and Kingsley.

Jean-Jacques Perrey was studying medicine in Paris when he met Georges Jenny, the inventor of the Ondioline, a type of electronic keyboard. Quitting medical school, Perrey traveled through Europe demonstrating this precursor of the modern synthesizer.

Perrey relocated to New York in his 30’s, sponsored by Caroll Bratman, who built him an experimental laboratory and recording studio.

Jean-Jacques Perrey passed away at 87 years old.
