Joan Elise Sledge was born on September 13, 1956, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and died on March 10, 2017,

She was better known as Joni Sledge.

She was an American singer–songwriter and producer.

She was best known as a founding member of the American family vocal group Sister Sledge.

Joni was also a songwriter and producer; writing and producing the song “Brother, Brother Stop” for a Sister Sledge greatest hits album in 1996.

She had one child, a son named Thaddeus.

She died from natural causes.

She was found dead by a friend at her home in Phoenix, Arizona.

Joni Sledge passed away at 60 years old.
