Jose Rizo was born on September 27, 1944, and died on April 23, 2019.

He was a legal counselor who attended the Universidad Centroamericana of Managua in Nicaragua.
He also took classes in the London School of Economics.
He was selected as the PLC’s presidential possibility for the 2006 race, where he ended up in the third spot behind Daniel Ortega and Eduardo Montealegre, getting 25.11% of the vote.
Recently, he had filled in as VP under Enrique Bolaños, then, from 2002 until he quit in 2005 to seek after the administration.
His opposition was José Antonio Alvarado.
Jose Rizo passed away at 74 years old.
