Joshua Shintani died on November 25, 2015, in Kauai.

He was an American actor.

He was best known for his role in “Shallow Hal” who went by the nickname Li’iBoy.

The actor appeared in the 2001 comedy “Shallow Hal” starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black.

The actor played in the film, the Hawaiian man who strummed his ukulele to the song “Never Forget Where I’m From” while sitting next to Jason Alexander’s character on a bench.

Shintani was discovered by director Peter Farrelly while he was vacationing in Hawaii.

He was a high school senior at the time, while he was playing his ukulele outside a public library.

Shintani was flown to Los Angeles for a screen test and landed the part immediately after.

Joshua Shintani passed away at 32 yrs old due to pneumonia.
