Juan Francisco Rodríguez, Spanish boxer, Died at 68

Juan Francisco Rodríguez Márquez was born on September 12, 1950, he died on April 16, 2019.

He was a Spanish boxer.

As a beginner, Márquez won the 1971 European flyweight title and achieved the quarterfinals at the 1972 Summer Olympics.

At the 1976 Games, he was halted in the second session by the possible silver medalist Charles Mooney.

After the 1976 Olympics, Rodríguez turned proficient and battled until 1982.

Márquez fought Carlos Zarate Serna for the Mexican’s WBC world bantamweight title in a 1977 battle held at Madrid, yet lost by TKO.

One year after, Márquez won the European title.

Márquez passed away at 68 years old.
