Kang Young-Hoon was born on May 30, 1922, and died on May 10, 2016.

He was a South Korean politician.

Youn-hoon served as the Prime Minister of South Korea from 5 December 1988 until 27 December 1990.

He was the acting Prime Minister until 16 December 1988, President Roh Tae-woo appointed him Prime Minister.

Kang Young-hoon served as the Ambassador to the United Kingdom, the Vatican, and Ireland; and he was Chancellor of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security.

Eventually, he served as chairman of the Sejong Institute foundation, and as Chairman of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Korea Committee.

He was given an honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) by Queen Elizabeth II, in 1995,

Kang Young-hoon passed away at 93 yrs old.
