Keion Eric Carpenter was born on October 31, 1977, and died on December 29, 2016.

He was an American football defensive back.

Carpenter played for the Buffalo Bills and the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.

He played high school football at Woodlawn High School and college football at Virginia Tech and was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Buffalo Bills.

Carpenter played for the Bills during the 1999, 2000, and 2001 seasons.

Carpenter was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in 2002.

Carpenter was injured at the end of the 2003 season, tearing his ACL.

He was also known as one of the few players to have had successful spinal fusion surgery and then returned to football, having played for three years after the surgery.

He fell and struck his head while on vacation with his family.

Keion Carpenter passed away at 39 years old.
