Lars Evert Huldén was born on February 5, 1926, in Jakobstad, Finland and died on October 11, 2016.

He was a Swedish-speaking Finn writer, scholar and translator.

Lars was professor at Helsinki university 1964–1989.

During 1986, Huldén received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Humanities at Uppsala University, Sweden.

Huldén has researched Carl Michael Bellman, Johan Ludvig Runeberg, Swedish dialects and toponomy.

He and his son Mats Huldén translated Kalevala into Swedish in 1999.

He died in Helsinki, Finland.

Lars Huldén passed away at 90 years old.
