Liliane Wouters was born on February 5, 1930, in Ixelles, and died on February 28, 2016.

She was a Belgian poet, playwright, translator, anthologist and essayist.

She was a school teacher from 1949 to 1990.

Liliane Wouters met Albert Andrew Lheureux and his Théâtre de l’Esprit Frappeur.

Liliane Wouters was a Member of the Royal Academy of French Language and Literature of Belgium and the European Academy of Poetry.

For her work and contribution, she received the 1961 Triennial Prize for Poetry, the Montaigne Prize, Foundation Friedrich von Schiller (Hamburg), in 2000 the Prix Goncourt for poetry, and the 2000 Five Year Award for Literature.
