Mohamed Salmene Lahouaiej-Bouhlel was born on January 3, 1985, and died on July 14, 2016.

He was a Tunisian terrorist living in Franc.

Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel carried out the 2016 Nice attack in which he drove a truck into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France, killing 84 people and injuring 303.

Reported by the media reports, Lahouaiej-Bouhlel was known to police for five prior criminal offenses, notably regarding armed violence.

On January 27, 2016, Mohamed was put on probation for attacking a motorist with a wooden pallet after a traffic accident.

Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel was convicted on 24 March 2016 and given a six-month suspended sentence on charges of violence with a weapon.

He was last arrested less than a month before the attack after a traffic accident in which he had been asleep at the wheel, and he remained subject to judicial supervision.

However, he was not registered as a national security risk (fiche “S”) with French authorities.

He took a trip to the Promenade des Anglais twice in the two days before the attack, as filmed by CCTV cameras. He also took selfies at the wheel of the truck before the attack and shared them by text message.

There was over 200 investigators were engaged to identify the recipients of the messages.

Mohamed was shot dead by French police officers who were attempting to force him to stop the truck.

Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel passed away at 31 years old.
