Per Brandtzæg was born on June 9, 1936, and died on September 12,  2016.

He was a Norwegian physician.

Per was a professor of medicine at the University of Oslo.

During November 2006, Per Brandtzæg was proclaimed Commander of the Order of St. Olav in recognition of his work.

Brandtzæg a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.

Per Brandtzæg was also known to the general public as a proponent to retry the case of Fredrik Fasting Torgersen.

Per Brandtzæg passed away at 80 years old.
