Peter Vernon Jones was born on January 28, 1933 in Launceston, Tasmania and died on January 16, 2017.

He was an Australian politician.

Jones served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1974 to 1986, representing the seat of Narrogin.

Jones was a minister in the governments of Charles Court and Ray O’Connor.

He was a member of the National Country Party (NCP).

His parents were Annie May (née Simmons) and Harold Vernon Jones.

Peter Jones attended Launceston Church Grammar School, where his father was the headmaster.

Following that, Jones was a farmer at Hagley.

He was a member of the state marketing board for barley.

Peter Jones passed away at 83 years old.
