Pran Kurup was born on October 3, 1966, and died on September 3, 2016.

He was an Indian entrepreneur and author.

He was born in Chennai to K. Madhava Kurup and Sarojini.

Pran was the nephew of K. P. P. Nambiar.

Kurup completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and post-graduation in Robotics from Miami University.

He was married to Dr Lachmi Khemlani and had two children

He founded Vitalect, an e-learning company based in California in 1997.

Kurup also served as the president of the Silicon Valley Indian Professionals Association (SIPA).

He authored three books.

His first two books were technical.

Pran co-authored Logic Synthesis Using Synopsys with Taher Abbasi.

And his second book It’s the Methodology, Stupid! was co-authored with Taher Abbasi and Ricky Bedi.

During 2016, Pran released his third book on his IIT batchmate and friend Arvind Kejriwal.

The book was titled Arvind Kejriwal & the Aam Aadmi Party: An Inside Look, the book contained a political analysis of the rise of Kejriwal and AAP and a comparison of the growth with that of start-up companies.

His book was released by Kejriwal in New Delhi.

Kurup was also a columnist on the Economic Times blogs.

He died in Thiruvananthapuram, due to heart failure and was cremated.

Pran Kurup passed away at 49 years old.
