Roar Johansen was born on July 8, 1935, and passed away on October 23, 2015.

Roar was a Norwegian footballer.

As a defender for Fredrikstad he helped win the league title in 1956–1957, 1959–1960 and 1960–1961, and the cup title in 1957, 1961 and 1966.

In total he played 190 league-games and scored five goals for Fredrikstad from 1952 to 1967.

Roar was also an important player for the Norwegian national team.

He was capped 61 times; 54 of the matches were played consecutively between 1960 and 1967.

Roar was one of the most-played Norwegian football players in 1964.

Roar participated in Norway’s sensational 3-0 defeat of Yugoslavia in 1965.

He went on to coach Fredrikstad.

Roar died on 23 October 2015 at 80 years old.
