Robbert de Greef, Dutch cyclist, Died at 27

Robbert de Greef was born on August 27, 1991, and died on April 25, 2019; he was a Dutch cyclist, who rode for Alecto Cycling Team.

He came over from the Baby-Dump Cycling Team and was the winner of the Top competition last season, making him automatically eligible for a place in the pro-continental cycling team.

The hill specialist won, among other things, the Ton Dolmans Trophy in Limburg and demonstrated to be a complete rider by becoming the most robust all-rounder in the Top Competition.

Robbert was currently the last winner of that competition who automatically qualifies for a commitment with Roompot because it is not yet clear whether the cycling team will exist after next season.

The contracts with the main sponsors terminate at the end of 2018.

On April 1, 2019, Robbert Greef suffered a heart attack during the Omloop van de Braakman race. He passed away on April 25 2019; he was 27 years old.
