Steve Smith was born on November 25, 1989, in Cassidy, British Columbia and died on May 10, 2016.

He was a professional downhill mountain biker.

Steve was (as of September 2013) 2nd in the world rankings on the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Downhill Mountain Bike circuit.

During the 2013 Smith secured his first overall victory in the UCI DHI World Cup by winning the last race in Leogang, Austria.

He died after suffering a massive brain injury resulting from an enduro motorcycle accident in his hometown of Nanaimo, British Columbia, on 10 May 2016.

Steve Smith passed away at 26 yrs old.
