Terry Rawlings, British film editor, Died at 86

Terry Rawlings was born in 1933, and died on April 23, 2019; he was a British film editor and sound editor with several BAFTA nominations and one Academy Award nomination.

He was honoured as a sound editor date from 1962 to 1977, after which he is credited primarily as a film editor.


A founding member of the Guild of British Film and Television Editors, Terry was also elected to membership in the American Cinema Editors and received the organisation’s 2006 Career Achievement Award.

Terry was, chosen for an Oscar for his work on Chariots of Fire and BAFTAs for both Alien and Blade Runner.

Mr Terry lived in north London with his wife. Terry Rawlings passed away at the age of 86.
