Thoppil Mohamed Meeran, Indian Tamil writer, Died at 74

Thoppil Mohamed Meeran was born on September 26, 1944, in Nagercoil and died on May 10, 2019.

He was an Indian Nagercoil based author who wrote in Tamil.

He was granted the Highest Indian Government grant for Poets, Sahitya Akademi Award in 1997 for his novel Saivu Narkali (The Reclining Chair).

Meeran additionally got the Tamil Nadu Kalai Ilakkiya Perumantam Award, the Ilakkiya Chintanai Award, and the T N Govt. Grant.

He distributed five books and six short story accumulations.

Meeran was hitched to, Jaleela and had two kids, Shameem Ahamed and Mirzad Ahamed.

Meeran hailed from a town named Thengai Pattanam which is a piece of the Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu. He was one of the children of the well known M.O.M Family.
