Timothy F. “Tim” LaHaye was born on April 27, 1926 – July 25, 2016)

He was an American evangelical Christian minister, author, and speaker.

Tim LaHaye was best known for the Left Behind series of apocalyptic fiction, which he co-wrote with Jerry B. Jenkins.

LaHaye authored more than fifty books, both fiction and non-fiction.

During 1950, he received a Bachelor of Arts from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina.

He held a Doctor of Ministry degree from Western Seminary.

During 1958, the LaHaye family relocated to San Diego, California, where he served as pastor of the Scott Memorial Baptist Church for nearly twenty-five years.

During 1971, Tim founded Christian Heritage College, now known as San Diego Christian College.

He had started numerous groups to promote his views, having become involved in politics at the Christian Voice during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Tim helped to establish the Institute for Creation Research at Christian Heritage College in El Cajon, California in 1972, doing so along with Henry M. Morris.

He then left the pulpit to concentrate his time on politics and writing, in 1981.

He was best known for the Left Behind series of apocalyptic fiction that depict the Earth after the pretribulation rapture which Premillennial Dispensationalists believe the Bible states multiple times will occur.

He was married to activist and fellow author Beverly Ratcliffe in 1947.

Togerther, they had four children.

Tim LaHaye passed away at 90 years old.
