Tony Conrad/ Anthony S. Conrad was born in 1940 and died on April 9, 2016.

He was an American avant-garde video artist, experimental filmmaker, musician/composer, sound artist, teacher, and writer from Baltimore, Maryland.

Tony was considered to be a pioneer of both structural film and drone music (or, as he has qualified, “The first non-bagpipe western drone music”).
