Touran Mirhadi was born in 1927, and died on November 8, 2016.

She was an Iranian educator, author and researcher.

Touran Mirhadi was the founder of the Farhad School (Persian: مدرسه فرهاد) a progressive kindergarten and elementary school in Tehran which was a source of many pedagogical innovations.

Touran Mirhadi was also the co-founder of The Children’s Book Council of Iran (Persian: شورای کتاب کودک) and The Encyclopedia for Young People (Persian: فرهنگنامه کودکان و نوجوانان).

Touran Mirhadi passed away at 89 years old.
