Vincent Paul Garbutt was born on November 20, 1947, in South Bank, Middlesbrough and died on June 6, 2017.

He was an English folk singer and songwriter.

He was a significant part of his repertoire consists of protest songs covering topics such as “the Troubles” in Northern Ireland (Troubles of Erin), unemployment, and social issues.

During 2001, he won the “Best Live Act” award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and was also nominated for “Folk Singer of the Year”.

Vin Garbutt passed away at 69 years old.
