Willem Hendrik Velema was born on November 15, 1929 and died on April 18, 2019.
He was a Dutch professor, pastor, and theologian.

Wim Velema was the child of the minister Hendrik Velema (1889– 1948).
His siblings Jan (1917– 2007) and Koen (1922– 1997) were additionally ministers.
After secondary school, he contemplated religious philosophy and acquired his doctorate in 1957 at the VU University Amsterdam on the thesis The Holy Spirit with Abraham Kuyper.
He began his vocation as a minister in Eindhoven and after that, he worked in Leiden.
He was selected a teacher of New Testament courses, common administration courses, and morals at the Theological University Apeldoorn in 1966.
Velema resigned in 1996.
Notwithstanding his situation as a teacher, Velema was included as a board part in different religious and social associations.
Velema served as a panel member of the EO radio program Dit Week from 1980 to 1990.
Willem Hendrik Velema passed away at 89 years old.
