In 1968 debuted Willy Stähle already and immediately as Dutch champion water ski on the ski jumping part and in second place in slalom and figures. There were still many national medals.
It was in 1971, at age 17, during the World Championships in waterskiing in Banyoles (Spain) world champion on the component figures.
In ski jumping she won that year also added a bronze medal. By which performance she was named in 1971 in the Netherlands for Sportswoman of the Year.
In 2006, she was still the associated Jaap Eden statuette. In 1973 she won at the world championships in Bogota the silver medal in figures.
At the Olympics in 1972 in Munich, where water skiing was a demonstration sport, she took part in the figures a gold medal.

After her rehabilitation, she studied briefly at the academy.
In 2000 she was interviewed for the television Sportpaleis De Jong.
In late 2006 she broke ties with its sporting past and they continued to live in anonymity.
In 2011 she was the subject of an episode of the sports Other Times Sport.
